Why Outsource To An Seo Consultant

(category: Seo, Word count: 326)
Share this article on: Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp

Why would it be a good idea to outsource to an SEO consultant? A skilled web designer can create an unforgettable page that can serve every need that you can dream of. However web designers may not necessarily have any skill with SEO. An SEO consultant will know how to get your page seen and seen often. Let's cover a few reasons why you may consider doing this.

One is that an SEO consultant devotes all of their energies and resources into learning their craft. Their skills are specifically used for website rankings. They can work with your design team from the ground up to make sure that your website not only makes maximum use of SEO techniques but also to save you time and therefore money in the long run by making sure it is done right the first time. This by itself will save you not only time but costly redesigning later.

Another reason is that you ant your web design team to focus their energies on designing the site. By bringing an SEO consultant in you can have two specialists concentrate on what they know how to do best. An SEO consultant is going to take their bag of tricks and essentially arm your website and engage in a battle of wits with the search engines and their ranking algorithms.

The web designer only needs to worry about overcoming technical problems. They focus on first making the site work and then making it work well. They will make site not only work for you but also to get it to work beyond what you originally needed it for.

The SEO consultant must continually improve their skills because they are not just getting your site ranked well today but continually get it ranked well. You need both of these specialists to work for you. Together they can give you what your need and more.

Seo Software And Ebooks

(category: Seo, Word count: 823)
Share this article on: Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp

I have been on the Internet for a long time. At least I have been doing marketing a long time in relation to the Internet as a commercial entity.

Around the end of 1995 I speculated in domain names, learning about keywords and phrases and how they help the search engines find the content you are providing at your website.

I continued to learn about keywords and as search engine optimization became a necessity I was ready to use what I had learned about keywords and phrases, domain names, search engines and content.

There were quite a few people, say a couple of hundred who really knew how to use keywords to optimize websites.

However, then it was to help search engines do a better job of indexing all of the content on the web. Now it seems the roles are reversed and the search engines are in charge. At least many seem to think so.

Now there are also a lot of people, thousands, who claim to know all of the search engine secrets and some claim they can get you top listings if you just sign up with them, buy their Ebooks, buy their videos, or buy their software.

I always have a hard time with the math. If these guys can guarantee you a top 10 listing for your keywords, then 11 companies sign up for their service that are also targeting your keywords or phrases, then how do they get all 11 customers a top 10 listing?

There are a lot of things we have known about the importance of for years such as anchor text, titles for links, surrounding links with keywords in the body text to make the links more relative, alt tags, metatags, keyword count, and more.

But now almost every day I see a website or article promoting a "new search engine secret" and it has a name I have never heard of. Then when I investigate and read up on it I find that they have renamed anchor text something else, keyword-count something else, etc.

Just like Hollywood these days seem to only be remaking movies we have already seen and giving them new names, it seems there are a lot of people out there now renaming SEO methods that are as old as the Internet with new names and selling them as new secrets.

They sell you these "new secrets" on video, in an Ebook, in a Seminar, or produce software that "optimizes" your website for you.

Most of the SEO Gurus of today never actually optimized a website for themselves or anyone else with any good results. They simply advertised to other people that they know how to make them rich in 90 days with little or no work at all and can promise you top 10 search engine rank in all the major search engines.

There are some of us who actually do the work and will keep on doing so and remaining ethical about the business. Its just hard to sit by and see so many people bilked out of their money with promises that no one can keep.

I have clients send me stuff all the time.

"Hey look at this new SEO technique I got in my email!"

"Look at this website I found that can get us top listings in 30 days!"

I go and read up on it for my client and find the same old stuff repackaged once again. Things I am already doing for the client is now a video or an Ebook and they cannot understand why I would recommend not spending money on it.

If you are going into business on the web and you read this article, just learn one thing from it.

There are NO shortcuts to success. Get rich quick schemes are just schemes. There is no magic formula or secret to getting top listings in the major search engines.

If there is a secret, it is that it actually requires hard work to be successful on the web just like it takes hard work to become successful with any business on or offline.

Buying an Ebook or a video or some software is not going to make you rich or get you top listings in the search engines. Anyone who tells you that work is not required to make money on the web is lying to you.

Learn how to do this for yourself or hire a professional who does not promise you the sky, but also hire one that can prove the results they have gotten for clients and for their own websites.

Testimonials are worth absolutely nothing.

"Chris McElroy is amazing! He got me a top 10 listing for my website in less than thirty days! The videos are easy to follow and in just days I was an SEO expert. I recommend everyone buy his Ebooks too!" -John Doe, New York

Instant Traffic Is The Way To Make Sales Article Marketing Is The Way To Instant Traffic

(category: Seo, Word count: 743)
Share this article on: Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp

One way of promoting your website and product can be achieved for free. As an additional bonus, this "free" method can boost your sites and sales, doubling and even tripling your income.

Articles. One of the easiest ways to promote your website in order to generate traffic and increase your earnings.

How does this work?

Write articles relating to your website and submit them to "free content" submission sites. Easy to do, takes little time and can increase your website traffic, sales and of course, your income.

How can article writing boost traffic and income?

The article on the free content site contains a link to your own website. Readers, after reading your articles, may choose to click on the link and pay you an unexpected visit. Having them on the free content sites is also making these articles available to other webmasters who may wish to publish that article on their site.

If they do, your article will include a link back to your site. And anyone who reads the article on that site can still click on the link to visit your site.

As the list of your published articles grow larger, and more and more of them are appearing on different websites, the total number of links to your site increases also. Major search engines are placing a lot of significance on incoming links to websites so they can determine the importance of a certain site.

The more incoming links the website has, the more importance search engines attaches to it. This will then increase your website's placement in the search results.

If you site is into promoting a product or service, the links that your articles have achieved will mean more potential customers for you. Even if visitors only browse through, you never know if they might be in need of what you are offering in the future.

There are also those who already have specific things they need on their mind but cannot decide yet between the many choices online. Chances are, they may stumble upon one of your articles, gets interested by the contents you wrote, go to your site and became enticed by your promotions. See how easy that is?

Search engines do not just index the websites, they also index published articles. They also index any article that is written about your own website's topic. So once someone searches for that same topic, the list of results will have your site or may even show the articles that you have written.

And to think, no effort on your part was used to bring them to your site. Just your published articles and the search engines.

It is no wonder why many webmasters are suddenly reviving their old writing styles and taking time to write more articles about their site than doing other means of promotion.

Getting their site known is easier if they have articles increasing their links and traffic and making it accessible for visitors searching the internet. Since many people are now taking their buying needs online, having your site on the search engines through your articles is one way of letting them know about you and your business.

The good thing with articles is that you can write about things that people would want to know about. This can be achieved in the lightest mood but professional manner, with a little not-so-obvious sales pitch added.

If you think about it, only a few minutes of your time is spent on writing one article and submitting to free content site. In the shortest span of time also, those are distributed to more sites than you can think of. Even before you know what is happening, you are getting more visitors than you previously had.

If you think you are wasting your time writing these articles, fast forward to the time when you will see them printed and wide-spread on the internet. Not to mention the sudden attention and interest that people are giving your website and your products or services.

Try writing some articles and you will be assured of the sudden surge in site traffic, link popularity and interest. Before you know it, you will be doubling and even tripling your earnings.

Nothing like getting benefits for something you got for free.

How To Rank Better In Search Engines

(category: Seo, Word count: 582)
Share this article on: Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp

[1]. Your Web pages with content should be interested in reading.

As content is king for search engines content in your site should be both unique and interesting. This can improve your impression.

[2]. Content should be highly focused with keyword phrases.

Rather than phrases that are too general and competitive

specially when there is more competition.

[3]. Optimize your Web pages for at least three to five keywords at a time.

You should optimize your page for minimum three keywords-for three keywords your page should be highly relevant. for that you need to choose better keywords, choosing keywords is not a game of guessing. it is one science. Write your site's content using the keywords for which users search and you'll literally be speaking the same language as your visitors.

Useful sites:-Nichebot.com and Wordtracker.com

[4]. Use regionally specific keywords, when applicable.

If your target is regional than try to choose keywords that are regional.

Example:-you can choose 'loans in new York' rather than just 'loan in USA' that's why you will get highly targeted visitors and improve your visitor to sales ratio

[5]. Use the most commonly used variations of your keywords, with keyword research

Don't choose keywords that are highly competitive (specially when your page rank is low.) You can choose their synonyms etc.as per I said you need to do some research work for that. also consider some variation that can occur due to typing mistake etc..

[6]. each optimized page should contain a unique title.

It will some time meaningless if you will choose same title pages more than one. title tags are very important and perhaps you know that search engine give lots of weight to title if title of your page will different. Than you can get more traffic for more keywords. this is important.

[7].Use multiple keywords in your title tags when appropriate.

Choose better title for every page using synonyms etc..That you will probably also get traffic for that keywords too. but don't go overboard.

[8].Most important keywords appearing above the fold and throughout each optimized page.

First few lines are very important for search engine page relevancy. so write that with special care and using your all main keywords. also include your keywords in other part of page too.

[9]. Using keywords in hypertext links, whenever possible.

If you will use keywords in hypertext links than your page which you link will improve its page relevancy automatically

[10]. Each optimized page contains a unique meta-tag description.

Some search engines still give more weight to Meta tags so like title Meta tag should be different for each page if possible.

[11]. each optimized page contains a unique meta-tag keyword list.

Like Meta tags you should also change Meta tags wherever possible. and that keywords should also include in page body.

[12]. Place common misspellings of your keywords within your meta-tag keywords.

Many people using this system to get traffic you can use misspellings in your meta details and can drive traffic. due to typing mistakes of searchers

[13].your graphic images should contain descriptive keywords within the alternative text attribute, when appropriate.

Google also decide relevancy through name of icons, images etc..so try to include your keywords in it.

[14]. If you are submitting pages to non-U.S. search engines. write your pages in the appropriate language

if you will not do it. it may possible that in international search engines your rank will down.

Five Reasons Why Seo Is Better Than Paid Online Marketing

(category: Seo, Word count: 694)
Share this article on: Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp

Online Marketing is becoming an essential marketing medium for a successful business. If a business can successfully marketing their product or service online they open many new doors to potential customers and sales leads. A well structured and organised SEO consultant will suggest two avenues for online marketing, Search Engine Optimisation and Paid Online Marketing (like Pay Per Click). Ideally you would be able to afford both paid and unpaid marketing campaigns but if you are like most businesses you are on a budget and need the proof that online marketing actually works.

The most common phrase I hear is "But everyone knows who we are and what we do" in relation to their business. This is just not true otherwise every potential customer would already be beating down your door wouldn't they? There is always room for growth and if you sell a product or service then there is always online marketing potential.

So, let's explore why SEO is far superior to paid online marketing.

1. SEO is a long term strategy for your online marketing. Should you implement pay per click or other paid online marketing then as soon as you stop paying your bills to the advertiser the traffic to your website will stop. Although you pay for setting up an SEO campaign with a reputable agency often their other client's results are so impressive it is almost compelling to go with SEO instead. With SEO, should you stop paying for the refinements a reputable firm might charge at an ongoing rate, you might only see a slight leveling off of website traffic.

2. With pay per click marketing you pay for every visitor delivered to your website whether they like your service or not. With Search Engine Optimisation your website will hopefully appear high in the free search results and this will mean you do not pay for a click through to your website - effectively once your SEO is setup every click or visitor to your website is free.

3. False or fake click throughs. In a study released in August 2007 it was determined that 18% of click throughs on pay per click links on Google were false. In other words this could be competitors clicking through to your website just trying to cost you money in advertising.

4. The psychology of clicking on sponsored links. If you appear in both the paid and unpaid search results then you would see about 80% of your website traffic come from the unpaid free SEO website links. There is a psychology associated with consumers clicking on paid advertising links especially if they are labeled as such, like in Google "Sponsored Links". Searchers see straight through this and know it is a paid advertising link. Consumer preference is placed on the freely generated results and links at a rate of 4 to 1.

5. Over the period of one year the cost of setting up the initial SEO campaign will have more than bettered the underlying website traffic that an equivalent costing pay per click campaign will have achieved. From my client examples there is about a 4 times website traffic factor weighted for SEO against pay per click. I was amazed myself!!

In a recent newspaper article in Melbourne, Australia, it was shown that holding a position in the top 3 spots in the search engine results pages for a competitive term is worth an estimated $1.5 million. It was also shown that holding the top spot generates 3.5 times the traffic that the number two spot generates.

When it boils down to it a well executed Search Engine Optimisation campaign will get your website massive amounts of website traffic. Of course selling the product or service is then the responsibility of the actual website so make sure you couple your SEO with good design, clear and prevalent calls to action and correct marketing principles like colour schemes and layouts. In my opinion it is vital to get this SEO campaign mix correct so talk to a reputable SEO firm and gain some information on how they can help you.

What Is Page Rank What Are Back Links And Why Do They Matter

(category: Seo, Word count: 682)
Share this article on: Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp

First, the jargon.

Back link: this is where a website links to your site; i.e. Site X has a link pointing to your site, so your site has a back link from Site X

One-way link: where only site X links to your site, but your site does NOT link to site X

Reciprocal link: where two sites have swapped links so they both link to each other

Anchor text: the text/description that is associated with your link on the back link site.

Page rank: Google's proprietary system for assigning a value (from 1-10 where 10 is best) to the combined number and the quality of back links pointing to your site. Often abbreviated to "PR"

Search Engine Results Page (SERP): we use the terms "SERPs" to refer to the search engine results page, and the position of a site on it. So if a website has a SERP of 3, it means for a particular keyword search it appears on page 3 of the results. Note that some people use SERP to refer to the position on the page, so that a SERP of 3 may also mean the site appears at #3 on the first page.

Check you page rank and backlinks now! Quick and easy Page rank checking at http://www.quickpagerank.com/

So, what does it all mean?

In the online marketing world, Page Rank means a lot. Increasing a website's PR is one of the major foci of online marketing.

The goal is to get as high a PR as possible for your site. PR is measured by a proprietary algorithm belonging to Google. What Google does is measure the quality of the site linking to your site. How does it do this? By measuring, amongst other things, that site's PR. There is also evidence that the degree of relatedness of content is also important. If you site is an e.g. Real estate website, then a back link from a site dealing in scuba gear may not be worth much to you. But back links from sites that have good PR and are related to you (e.g. by industry or by region/location) are well worth pursuing. By increasing the number and quality of links pointing to your site, over time you will increase your PR.

Note also that many other engines also use back links as part of their SERP algorithm. Some may not be as sophisticated as Google, but many measure the number of back links in their index and use this as part of how they rank your site under a particular search.

You can check your back links and page rank at http://www.quickpagerank.com/

So how do I improve my Page Rank?

Firstly, make sure your site has good quality content. Make other sites and their owners want to link to you. Then get out on the web and start making propositions to other website owners in related fields.

Ideally, you will get links from sites that have a higher Page Rank than yours, but this isn't always possible. What you should look for are sites that:

Have good content

Are relevant or related to your site

Have some Page Rank already (i.e. not brand new)

Also, older domains may do better than newer domains

Some of the do nots.

Be wary of FFA (Free For All) sites; often these do you no good and can actually do you damage as they tend to be viewed as spam sites by some engines.

Don't "spam" your anchor text; make it relevant and don't overload it with keywords or repetitions.

Vary your anchor text. Use different variations or re-writes of anchor text on different sites.

Make sure the page where your link will be placed has been indexed by the search engines. If it has not been indexed (or can't be for whatever reason) then you won't get any benefit from it.

Make sure that the pages you place links on have limits to the number of links listed. Single figures are ideal, but not always possible.

Could Time Warner Be Using Black Hat Seo To Help Search Rankings Rewritten

(category: Seo, Word count: 581)
Share this article on: Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp

This is an exclusive story, researched and written by Eric Van Buskirk

Is it possible that MarkMonitor, Inc, who call themselves "a global leader in the fast-growing market for online corporate identity" has been secretly hiding links on behalf of TimeWarner? Is this being done on subdomains of timeinc.net in order to rank high in the search engines? You decide. MarkMonitor owns the domain name timeinc.net, a site with a homepage which re-directs to the main Time.com site. So it would seem they are running this site on behalf of TimeWarner.

If you go to the timeinc site and view some of the source code of the pages, you will find error pages that have links below an image map at the bottom of the page, links which are hidden from viewers and added to increase the search engine ranking of other Time Warner properties. This link-hiding practice is often referred to as "Black Hat" SEO.

An image map tells the browser how to display an image. That is it's only purpose. However, some of the pages on timeinc.net have links hidden to viewers next to the image maps. If one views the source of sub domains such as img.timeinc.net or i.timeinc.net, it is apparent there are four links to other TimeWarner properties:

<MAP NAME="brandsmap">

<AREA SHAPE="rect" COORDS="0,0,69,27" HREF="http://www.time.com/">

<AREA SHAPE="rect" COORDS="71,0,141,27" HREF="http://www.money.com/">

<AREA SHAPE="rect" COORDS="504,0,573,27" HREF="http://www.onmagazine.com/">

</MAP>

</BODY>

</HTML>

Did MarkMonitor, inc, a huge company and a true leader in "defending brand names" online buy this domain, redirect the traffic to Time.com and find places to hide links to other Time websites out of pure altruism? It's possible, but hard to believe. It should be noted that there are very important subscription pages on other sub domains of timeinc. This is not a domain that was cast away and has no value for linking.

If MarkMonitor purposefully hid links as it would seem, altruism towards Time seems an unlikely motive.

There is an increasingly fine line with what is acceptable and what is not for search engine optimization. At ClickStream, we believe the last group that needs to employ sneaky techniques to rank high are fortune 500 companies. In essence, these companies are the ones that have whole "rings" of websites. Yet, search engines will ban individuals that create multiple sites for the purpose of linking to each other and creating a link circle.

Time should be able to link in a circle with its various media companies. That may seem an unfair advantage, but they are separate entities that have the same parent company. What certainly seems unfair is for them to take further advantage of the circular linking by hiding links that only the search engines can see.

The recent storm has just passed over the BMW being removed from the Google search engine pages. BMW's German site was found using "doorway pages" to build traffic and rank for their site. Google was able to document that BMW's German website used the search results to get a top ranking if people searched for "used car." Searching for BMW Germany will bring no results. BMW.ge was well ranked but it dropped completely out of the Google index in a matter of 2 days.

The Role Of The Robots Txt File To Improve Site Ranking

(category: Seo, Word count: 363)
Share this article on: Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp

Not many web master take the time to use a robots.txt file for their website. For search engine spiders that use the robots.txt to see what directories to search through, the robots.txt file can be very helpful in keeping the spiders indexing your actual pages and not other information, such as looking through your stats!

The robots.txt file is useful in keeping your spiders from accessing parts folders and files in your hosting directory that are totally unrelated to your actual web site content. You can choose to have the spiders kept out of areas that contain programming that search engines cannot parse properly, and to keep them out of the web stats portion of your site.

Many search engines cannot view dynamically generated content properly, mainly created by programming languages, such as PHP or ASP. If you have an online store programmed in your hosting account, and it is in a seperate directory, you would be wise to block out the spiders from this directory so it only finds relevant information.

The robots.txt file should be placed in the directory where your main files for your hosting are located. So you would be advised to create a blank text file, and save it as robots.txt, and then upload it to your web hosting to the same directory your index.htm file is located.

Here is examples of the use of the robots.txt file:

To block out a directory in a robots.txt file, such as a subdirectory for your online store called /store/ you would do the following: Disallow: /store/

Another example to block out your stats directory: Disallow: /stats/

You may also want to disallow individual files that you do not want searched by the search engines. For example you dont want search.php to be parsed by the Search Engines. To do this you type in the following on its own line:

Disallow: /search.php

Following the rules outlined and creating the robots.txt file, you will keep search engine spiders out of unwanted files and directories, and letting them go through the important files to see what your web site is all about!
